Nothing can match the richly royal and plush luxurious look and feel of velvet. It is soft and sensuous to touch, drapes well and can be used for a variety of purposes. The world of velvet has many impostors, but this is not one. Our team is very proud to have sourced these soft and luxurious velvets.
Our velvets are made of 100% polyester and have a rub count between 25,000 and 45,000. This means you can rub the velvet for over 25,000 times before some wear and tear is going to show. Hotels and restaurants work with a 25,000 rub count or higher. In other words, Furniturespot only uses velvets of the highest quality.
Upholstered furniture will lighten over time if it's exposed to direct sunlight, so be careful where you place your furniture pieces. To keep seat cushions looking their best and to help them wear evenly, be sure to regularly turn them. Give foam, feather or fibre-filled cushions a shake as often as possible to help them keep their shape.
Dust with a soft dry cloth. Wipe spills immediately. Avoid harsh cleaning products and abrasives. Always keep out direct sunlight and heat. To protect your velvet against stains we suggest to use a velvet protector such as our environmental safe to use Fiber ProTector.
When it comes to engineered wood, MDF board -also known locally as SupaWood, is often considered a level above plywood. It is denser, stronger and more durable. For these reasons, it has almost as many applications as solid wood. MDF is a composite product used in many home and professional projects, such as furniture, cabinetry, flooring and even speaker boxes due to its smooth finish, machinability, strength and consistency. All these great characteristics allow us the flexibility to build great looking products at an affordable price point without having to worry about durability.
MDF is sensitive to light. We'd recommend that you avoid leaving anything on the surfaces for the first 6-8 weeks, if they're exposed to sunlight. This should help you avoid any marks or rings appearing if the furniture lightens in the sun.
A damp (never soaking wet) cloth will do it. Dry the surfaces thoroughly afterwards. MDF can be damaged by liquids, so if you spill anything on it, be sure to wipe it dry immediately. If you need to remove any stains, go gently – use mild soap and warm water.
